Pre-season doesn’t matter, and neither the Broncos nor the Rams played in the pre-season finals Saturday night, but no football team wants to lose a game 41-0. So after the Broncos beat the Rams by that score, Rams coach Sean McVay admitted he wasn’t happy about it.
“It was a humbling night,” McVeigh said. “this Not a night you want to go through No matter what approach you take. . . . There are some players who have had some opportunities that we probably count on in our 53rd season and so I should be able to watch some movies but tonight was a good night of humility sometimes in football and you should also be able to learn from them and move on accordingly.
The Broncos led 17-0 in the first quarter and 27-0 at halftime. Broncos quarterback Jarrett Stidham threw for 236 yards and Ben DiNucci passed for 117 yards. The Rams played three quarterbacks, who combined for just 88 yards.
“Obviously, there are a lot of things to be happy about,” said Broncos coach Sean Payton. “I feel better about our depth tonight than I did a week or two ago.”
The Broncos should feel good after this performance. And although McVay sat out throughout the preseason, he couldn’t be happier with the performance of his backup players: The Rams went 0-3 in the preseason and lost their three games by a combined score of 109-34.
