Wait, a flat TV antenna? Aren’t these supposed to have long, overlapping metal rods (aka rabbit ears)? No, this new design (which you’ll see on countless other brands) works just as well, and it’s not meant to sit on top of your TV. Alternatively, you can mount it to a wall or window with the included adhesive pads, with the black or white side facing inward to better match your home decor.
The aptly named Flatenna is actually as flat as a piece of paper. Simply screw one end of the 12-foot cord into the bottom and the other end into your TV’s input. (Yes, that means there’s an unsightly wire running across your wall; think of A Channel kit like this to help disguise it.)
The Channel Master promises a range of up to 35 miles, but of course that depends on a variety of factors. As mentioned above, optimal placement – as high as possible and without obstructions – makes all the difference.
The big news here is the price: At just $29, the Flatenna is very affordable and a good place to start your antenna journey—assuming you’re OK with having a black or white rectangle stuck to a wall or window.
